Impact Missions is a Christian based, grassroots organization that seeks to help the impoverished through holistic and comprehensive efforts.
Our missions are both local and global, with a primary focus on the extremely impoverished Third World. Many organizations exist that help the poor and needy by working in areas such as water, agriculture, micro-finance, aids, malaria, housing, and so forth. Impact seeks to partner with these like minded organizations and individuals in order to create a cohesive charitable body. Over the past few years we have established partnerships with Seeds of Hope International, Elim Pentecostal Church, Crossroads Community Church, and Faith in Action.
Our core mission strategy is to empower entire village communities rather than just a few select individuals. This strategy is being achieved through identifying the villager's viable skills, area resources and the introduction of specific appropriate technologies. The villagers' handicrafts have been identified as an indigenous equitable resource and are therefore provided to our network of Church donors as a tangible connection between them and the villagers we are involved in helping. The donations for the crafts are used to provide critical necessities, education materials, appropriate technologies, and more.
The appropriate technologies being introduced are solar cookers, solar flash lights, solar dehydrators, bio-fuel, rocket stoves, load bearing carts, agriculture techniques, aquaculture, housing, etc. These applications are providing hope, independence, and a better management of the communities natural resources.
Statistics show that poverty is passed on from generation to generation, resulting in a systemic poison that acknowledges no boundaries of age, race, ethnicity, creed, or geography and unfortunately infects the most vulnerable which are orphans and widows.
Impact is focused on empowering the impoverished by way of a hand-up rather than a hand-out, which will in turn release them from the hope stealing grip of poverty. The charitable hand-out has and is fostering a mentality of poverty that actually discourages self sufficient actions. Impact seeks to help reverse this trend by helping the villagers to help themselves, their neighbor, and future generations through the familiar concepts of "teach a man to fish" and "pay it forward".
In closing, the majority of impoverished communities are wanting and willing to break their chains of poverty, and just need our help in doing so.
Make a real difference tomorrow, by supporting our missions today........
